ABOUT

MADE BY WOODSMOKE makes and connects all the creative services your business needs.

I initially trained as an architect and won the prestigious RIBA Presidents Medals Serjeant Award before establishing my business in 2017. My architectural background continues to strongly influence my work today. Just as architects must consider every aspect of building design, I apply this holistic design thinking to every aspect of my clients' businesses—distilling complex ideas into clear, meaningful solutions.

BEHIND THE NAME

A MADE BY WOODSMOKE project shares one fundamental core objective—to make the audience feel something.

This emotional connection is vital—because when audiences experience feelings such as excitement, belonging, or hope, they're more likely to trust you, listen to your message, and want to hear from you again.

"Woodsmoke" is the most evocative word I could find to instantly stir emotion and transport you to another place. For me, it evokes walks through the cottages of the Blickling Estate on the first crisp, sunny morning of autumn. Or it takes me to a friend's wedding in the Cotswolds, gathered around a fire pit at sunset.

EMOTION AND STORY FIRST, ADVERTISING SECOND

This key distinction will guide our work together.

Over the last 8 years, I've noticed a common pattern in client briefs: they tend to be completely one-sided. They focus solely on what the business wants to communicate to its potential customers—rather than considering what value the finished product will deliver to their audience's lives.

Our project will work much harder than this and will put our audience first, giving them compelling reasons to engage with us.

CONNECT THE DOTS

There are so many areas you could invest your time, money and energy making creative assets for your business. The most important questions you must consider are:

  1. Where should you invest to gain the greatest leverage?

  2. What should you do at the right time to meet your budget?

  3. How do you connect the dots between your chosen assets to create a multiplying effect?

  4. And how do you maintain consistency-with equal dedication to all areas of production?

MADE BY WOODSMOKE can help you with these questions.
