Driving Business Green gathered local dealerships, businesses, and the public at The Nest to talk frankly about electric vehicles. The day balanced demonstration and discussion. People could sit in different models, ask practical questions, and hear from those already making the switch. The brief to MADE BY WOODSMOKE was simple. Produce an event video that reflected the atmosphere and gave the organisers a clear asset to use in future campaigns.
The event is spread out, with activity happening simultaneously indoors and outside, so the approach prioritised agility. A Canon C70 paired with a 24โ105mm stabilised lens allowed quick movement between areas without compromising image quality. Handโheld operation kept setโup times down, and it meant I could react to spontaneous moments. I captured, authentically, the testโdrive smiles and the conversations between a business owner and a dealerโs rep.
The videoโs rhythm follows the day. Wide shots give a sense of scale and variety. Meanwhile closeโups carrying the detail: dashboards, charging connectors, interior trims, and the small interactions that make an event feel alive.
In postโproduction, colour correction and grading in DaVinci Resolve maintained a consistent look across changing light conditions. Licensed music from Epidemic Sound set a driving, rhythmic beat while staying in the background.
The result is a concise, engaging film that communicates what the event offers: access to people who know the technology, handsโon experience with a range of vehicles, and a friendly environment to ask questions. It works as both a record of the day and as a tool to promote future editions, helping the organisers build momentum around electric mobility in the region.
