AWARDS VIDEO FOR LSI ARCHITECTS
A short awards film for LSI Architects, filmed at their head office near Norwich Castle.
Following their 2022 recognition, LSI Architects asked MADE BY WOODSMOKE to produce a video for the Mind Workplace Wellbeing Index awards ceremony.
The brief was to capture the spirit of the practice and the concrete steps they were taking to support mental health across their teams. I filmed at LSI’s head office near Norwich Castle at a time when COVID restrictions still applied. This meant that planning and a measured on‑site approach were essential.
Interviews formed the backbone of the piece and I shot on a locked‑off tripod from two angles. This kept edits seamless and maintained a calm, steady tone in keeping with the subject. I shot the B‑roll handheld to add movement and texture without breaking the understated feel. A lens with in‑built stabilisation kept shots controlled and usable even in tighter spaces.
The story LSI wanted to tell was not about grand gestures but about everyday practice. I focused on the choices that make a difference over time: open conversations, practical support, and a leadership culture that treats wellbeing as part of good management rather than a standalone initiative. Staff voices were central. Hearing from people across the practice gave the film specificity and warmth.
I completed post‑production in DaVinci Resolve with a restrained grade. Music came from Epidemic Sound, chosen for pace and tone to support the narrative without drawing attention to itself. Graphics stayed minimal to keep focus on the people speaking.
The outcome is a piece that feels true to the practice and to the award it was created to celebrate. It also laid the groundwork for future collaboration: the following year, Mind returned to MADE BY WOODSMOKE to produce a trio of videos for new winners of the Index.
